It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Every where you go there are lights, snowman, and trees all decorated up. But in all reality Christmas isn't about we see at all. It's not about a look or even a feeling. Christmas is really about Christ. It's about knowing Him and the reason why He was born. That very reason was to free us from sin which leads to death which leads to our separation from God. God chose however to give us the ultimate Gift: Salvation. Think about it this way... Have you ever received a gift from your mom or dad for Christmas and you open it up and inside is a pair of socks. You were hoping for an ipod. The socks aren't even close. But think about this God gave you exactly what you needed. We needed someone to take away our sin. We couldn't. So as you look around this Christmas first look inside your heart see if Christmas is really there.

Night of Legends and Mystery

Well since the rain latley has rained out our Hayride we have come up with something just as good We call it the Night of Legends and Mystery. Sounds mysterious I know but it is going to be a load of fun. Included in this night will be the best ever Scavenger Hunt and we will be playing another round of cellphone shootout for some great prizes and it will also feature the Legend of the Sceva House. You will have to come to find out just what that is. So bring your friends your cellphone and a digital camera if you have one and meet at the church at 6pm on yes the 31st (that's halloween ssssshhhh...) and come have more fun than knocking on doors for candy. Seriously! See you there.

September had it coming...

Hey Fall is approaching us quickly and that means a new year at Invasion is about to begin. That also means you are probably going to back to school. But September isn't all bad news it is also month filled with great times just waiting to be had with God. Here's just a taste of what's to come:

ROCK 'n' ROW 'n' ROLL

I hereby name this summer ROCK 'n' ROW 'n' ROLL because when you check out our new summer calendar you'll think the same. We have plenty of concerts lined up to check out plus some other great opportunities to help you keep connected to the Invasion this summer. Here's what going down on Wednesday nights: Blue dates will be meeting at the Dunnick house call the church office for info 320-396-3391 this is for those who want to be involved in our E-team these nights will deepen your faith and encourage you to get more involved in the group as a core team. The Orange dates we invite you to come to the church for free pop and pizza and a time to hang ten with your friends and learn more about life, religion, and the how to be ready for the Big One as we watch Dare2shares new reality series shot in MAUI. So get ready to "Shred the Gnar" this summer.

Tonight May 6th is the last night of regular youth group and then at the end of may we begin our summer schedule. Every year we do an annual report of what has taken place here at SBC and I look back at what has taken place at Invasion. Well alot has happend. We went on 2 missions trips which were both fun and exhausting. We gained some new poeple. We made an impact worldwide when we did a big fundraiser for Feed my Starving Children and we packed over 9000 meals. We had some good times at events like the retreat at Grindstone and the most recent on in Chicago at Dare2Share. But the one thing I love to see most is how our youth group has grown in God. With summer coming let that continue to be our focus. That God will use our summer and the oppotunities that come to glorify Him. With that I hope you stay connected with Invasion this summer we have many things planned to help you grow and deepen your faith and grow in relationships. Keep posted for more info on events and I pray that you will allow time for God this summer and that you most importantly keep connected to Him and keep rockin' on.

Well here is the Good News.

We went to Chicago to a youth conference called Dare2share in Chicago.

The Good News is what took place before that picture was taken. The news is that one of the girls in our group came up to me crying and told me that she just given her life over to Jesus taking Him as her savior and making Him Lord in her life. It was awesome to hear such great news and see her begin that relationship with God. She had just heard the Good News the Gospel that:

God Created us to be with Him

and how

Our sins seperate us from God

and that no matter how hard we try that our

Sin cannot be removed by good deeds

see we needed a Savior so

Paying the price for our sins Jesus died and rose again

and

Everyone who trust in Him (Christ) alone has eternal life

Life thats eternal means we will be with Jesus Forever.

This is Good News.

The question is what is your response?

The girl in our group simply said yes I believe It.

Hungry Valentines Day!

Valentines Day was packed with love as we Invaded Hunger for 30 (+) hours. For 2 hours We packed love into 7,500 meals that day and raised over $1,400.00 for Feed My Starving Children. Then ended V-day by serving over 220 poeple a delicious dinner. It's amazing what can happen in 30 hours and just in 2 we were able to feed 21 kids for a whole year. This is what can happen when we decide to come together as one and worship God by serving others. What will you do for then next 30 hours of your life. Don't waste it give it to God!

Invade Hunger

February 13th-14th Invasion Youth Group teams up with Feed My Starving Children in a

30 hour fight for life and you can help Invade Hunger!

18,ooo children die each day due to starvation and starvation relate causes. You can help change that number by helping us Invade Hunger. Invasion Youth Group on February 13th-14th is going on a 30 hour fast from food in order to raise money for those who are starving in over 50 countries. Every 17 cents that we receive feeds a child one meal. Invasion youth group will be packing these meals from 2:30 pm-4:30 pm in Brooklyn park on the 13th at Feed My Starving Children (FMSC)

FMSC is a Christian, nonprofit organization with a mission of “Feeding God’s Starving Children Hungry in Body and Spirit.” The approach is simple: volunteers like us pack nutritious meals made up of rice, soy, vitamins and dehydrated vegetables. The food is then distributed to starving children in over 50 countries -- Each meal provides all the nutrients a starving child needs for an entire day! Your donations will help children not just survive, but thrive!

Join FMSC and Invasion Youth Group in this exciting lifesaving mission through your prayers, and donations! Invade Hunger and Give Hope to the Hungry!

If you would like to participate in this event message Isaac or get a packet at the church.

Each Participant is expected to raise $60.00 for FMSC by getting sponsors for the time they fast. We will meet at the church at 1 pm on Friday the 13th and the event ends on the 14th at 7 pm. All money raised must be turned in on the 13th.
