Unbelievable Christmas

Ever said "That's Unbelievable."

We do it when we see or hear or even experience something that is out of the norm.

When we here the story of Christmas we can look at all that happened such as a where Jesus was born, all the angels appearing to the shepherds, the Virgin Birth. When we hear this story we could really see ourselves saying "Unbelievable!" But Christmas really comes when we truly believe that everything told in the Bible really happened.

Wednesday we watched this at youth group. We then had a time where those who wanted sat on a stool and reflected on things they had not totally given to God. Each one who shared did it from the heart. I know for some this was really difficult but I believe each one that did changed that night. What are you holding back? Or what do you keep taking back? What would it look like if we stopped taking back the stool? Something to think about. Pray about. And do something about.

So now that I've got your attention I want to let you know that this Sunday Night is the Mega Rally at Bethel U. in Minneapolis with guest artist John Ruben and speaker Greg Speck. But thats not all oh no I'm also giving you the B.A.R.F. Challenge. You let me know what you think the letters B.A.R.F. stand for and if you right I'll pay your way to the mega rally dinner not included. Invincible

For the past 7 years there has been one thing that I most definately look forward to and that is taking a group to a Dare2Share Conference. Since my first time going in Colorado to going to the Chicago one last year I always am encouraged by what God does during this one weekend. What are you doing this Summer?

What are you doing this summer? This is a question we tend to hear a lot? What if God asked you that same question? What would your response be? I've been reminded of this passage in James a lot lately where it speaks of just not listening to the word but doing the word. It speaks of how the word of God is like a mirror and how many times we walk away from it and forget who we are. Summer seems like a time when we see this played out in our lives where we often forget who God created us to be and what we are supposed to be doing. We tend to do our own thing and live our life the way we want. I want to remind ourselves though that it is God who gives us life. It's Him who created this day. Did you ever wonder why? I think He did for us to do something with it!

Living In The Last Days

There was a while back a story of how some teens at school were kicked off their basketball or football team because someone tagged them in a photo drinking. It made the news even. 2 Timothy 3 talks about how the Last Days will be seen as terrible times. How people will be lovers of pleasure and everything else but God. When you read it it may surprise you how even at times you find yourself mentioned in the Bible like a tagged photo on myspace or facebook you see yourself in the picture. Some people would deny that they are there, some would say they've simply been caught and try not to the next time, but I hope you see verse 16-17. See this Scripture is really telling us that we need God the more in the Last Days. We can't go on denying His Power but allow His Power to change us.

Narnia and YOUth

Coming out the 16th is the new Narnia movie Prince Caspian. Oh and yes we are definitely going to see it on the 17th. In this film once again it brings you back to Narnia an imaginary land of course but although imaginary it brings out things that are true and reality. Truths about who we are and who God is and realities like temptation and how we see God. I was recently in discussion about people who don't believe in the Bible or believe it to be just a bunch of stories. It was asked what to say to those who just don't believe it. We could look at all the proof and the Bible itself which I encourage you to do. We could get into long discussions about what different people believe but here is something I came across and someone once said: That believing or not believing in something doesn't make it true or false. Have you found the Bible to be true. In the words of Kurt Angle former WWE wrestler "It's True, It's True." John writes in the last part of the Gospel that everything written was so that you may believe. I think people are afraid of Bible because of the truth it contains and what it causes a person to believe. It caused Mr. C.S. Lewis to and with out that you wouldn't be able to see this film. Think about that while watching it.

I Double Dare Ya!

It's real easy to ride a gorilla that's not real there is nothing dangerous or daring about it. But if it was real that would be a whole different story it would be daring and probably a stinky situation, either for the youth group or for the gorilla being surround by a group of teens, at the same time. What I'm trying to get at is this... there are some things that are real like Wisconsin (where the picture was taken) has alot of cheese and for some reason alot of their gas stations have these huge fake animals that's one thing that is real also something else that is real is heaven and hell. See some people tend to take both for a joke kinda like a fake gorilla but the reality is they are both real the thing is do you know which one your going to face. Here's one more question for you are you real about your faith in Christ? This past weekend at Dare2Share many made a commitment to become real in their faith so much they took a dare. I double dare you to do the same the dare was to share the Gospel with 2 friends in God's Time, in God's Power, and in God's love. What about you would you be willing to do that? Are you willing to face the reality that your friends may be headed for hell? The Day We Invaded Hunger

It wasn't just like any other day because any other day we would have eaten. It wasn't just like any other day because any other day wouldn't have raised $1557.00 to feed starving children. It wasn't just like any other day because any other day 20 people wouldn't have packed 12,960 meals to go to those in need. It wasn't just another day... It was however The Day We Invaded Hunger.

Invasion Youth Group on February 17-18th is going on a fast from food
in order to raise money for those who are starving in over 45 countries.
Every 15 cents that we receive feeds a child one meal.
Invasion youth group will be packing these meals from 9:30 to 11:30

The Landing is back

All Rocked Out

Yes the new year is here and we rocked out the old one at The Landing. Thanks to the bands that came out "the unknown ledgends of rock", Lightswitch, and Bithynia. I'm looking forward to 2008 I preached this last sunday on Ephesians 4:17-24 where Paul talks about putting of the Old Self and about putting on the New Man created by God. I encourage you this new year to also put off the Old Self and take on the New Man. Just think about this the world can sometimes..mmm..mostimes change us thats why we have a scripture that tells us in Romans 12:2 not to be conformed to the world but be transformed. Think about it isn't time God has a chance to change us. He wants to Rock out those things in our life that is from our old self. This is a new year what about you are you a new person changed by God?
